[20:35:32]<paul121[m]>I participated in a hackathon and our project won one of the prizes! 🫠🤓
[20:35:44]<mstenta[m]>wow! haha awesome!
[20:36:23]<paul121[m]>OpenTrees: https://devpost.com/software/open-trees
[20:37:30]<paul121[m]>I made a little farmOS module w/ tree assets that integrates with CO2.sotrage, one of the themes for the hackathon
[20:37:57]<mstenta[m]>that's great! 😄
[20:38:20]<mstenta[m]>added to the "add to the press page" list haha
[20:38:31]<paul121[m]>A group may use farmOS in Columbia for an agroforestry project, that was kinda the motivation for the hackathon to start thinking about how to work together
[20:38:58]<mstenta[m]>cool!

[04:58:39]<toino[m]><mstenta[m]> "but more broadly... field kit is..." <- I love it when chatgpt preditcs the future development of farmOS

[05:02:51]<toino[m]><mstenta[m]> "usually those get logged in /..." <- This Was the error i was getting `League\OAuth2\Server\Exception\OAuthServerException: The authorization server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request: You need to set the OAuth2 secret and private keys. in League\OAuth2\Server\Exception\OAuthServerException::serverError() (line 207 of
[05:02:51]<toino[m]>/opt/drupal/vendor/league/oauth2-server/src/Exception/OAuthServerException.php).`
[05:03:09]<toino[m]>i think i fixed it just by enabling the OAuth2 permissions
[05:43:03]<toino[m]><paul121[m]> "OpenTrees: https://devpost.com/..." <- Just watched the little demo video and it looks really interesting even for me, my grandfather as a small property were he lives with a bunch of trees, a small portion around 30 are orchard trees but the rest of them are mostly cork oaks that we harvest every 9 years, im wondering if i could use this to map the orchard trees so that i know what tree gives each apple/orange variety and for
[05:43:04]<toino[m]>the cork oaks just to know how many we have/loose each year?
[05:43:56]<toino[m]>not sure how difficult the Silvi/CO2.storage is to setup.
[11:25:58]<mstenta[m]>paul121 jgaehring symbioquine thoughts on https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS-community-blog/pull/15?
[11:26:08]<mstenta[m]>needs two approvals so i just tagged the three of ya :-)
[11:27:16]<symbioquine[m]>I guess we don't have previews yet...
[11:27:24]<symbioquine[m]>Does it look okay locally?
[11:27:51]<mstenta[m]>couldn't tell ya haha - just copied and pasted your video post symbioquine 😅
[11:27:55]<mstenta[m]>i know that looks OK :-)
[11:29:24]<mstenta[m]>we'll get those previews working soon...
[11:29:26]<mstenta[m]>still gotta set up the netlify account
[11:30:15]<mstenta[m]>thanks for the approvals!
[11:46:36]<paul121[m]><toino[m]> "Just watched the little demo..." <- I think you could do all of that with just farmOS! Silvi is still in development and CO2.storage is even more experimental. Those two projects are designed for something like a "tree planting project" where you need verification that events are happening & need to share the data with others. I know I mentioned "Tree assets" above, but that isn't really necessary. You could create your
[11:46:36]<paul121[m]>grandfather's trees as "Plant" assets in farmOS just as well & track their harvests, activities and keep inventory of how many you have
[11:58:14]<toino[m]><paul121[m]> "I think you could do all of that..." <- The thing that in liked the most that from what i understood i could do 99% of the work with my smartphone using geolocation and even taking photos of the same tree.
[11:58:22]<toino[m]>s/in/i/
[12:05:46]<paul121[m]>Totally. Well in theory that project could let you start in Silvi and take data elsewhere when you want. But I don't think Silvi tracks things like harvests, I could be wrong though. This is their site, you should reach out! https://www.silvi.earth/
[12:06:28]<paul121[m]>It could also be a great reference for designing a mobile + tree oriented observation app for farmOS via asset link/field kit :-)
[12:07:27]<paul121[m]>I think their app has some fancy optical recognition features that would be hard to replicate but the overall flow may be more relevant
[12:08:53]<symbioquine[m]>Asset Link has a geolocation-based search so once the trees are mapped you could pull up nearby trees that way
[12:09:29]<symbioquine[m]>Though, you might still need to label them somehow physically (if they're not already) to disambiguate.

[15:55:39]<toino[m]><paul121[m]> "Totally. Well in theory that..." <- I don't need to track harvests per tree, if i do end up tracking the cork harvests i will do it per property since we have 2 in total.
