[19:21:22]<victort>im wondering if mass cattle management is a thing
[19:21:24]<victort>like herdtrax
[19:21:37]<victort>since the sold to telus ag the program has become, well...
[19:26:44]<edbob[m]>victort: hello - i'm new to farmOS myself, still getting acquainted with all the nooks and crannies. so can't answer very well about who uses it for cattle and how. but did just want to say that i'm also interested in the "combo" of farmOS + cattle farms. so am curious to see where this goes
[19:52:38]<mstenta[m]>I'm not familiar with herdtrax. Can you describe what you use it for?
[19:53:13]<mstenta[m]>And edbob: what are you hoping to do?
[19:58:25]<mstenta[m]>PS: If you haven't seen the community forum you might try searching there too...

[20:02:40]<edbob[m]>i don't really have specific goals yet, just vague notions.. i like writing software and i live among cattle farmers, so building something for them has appeal. not sure "mass cattle management" is quite accurate for my context fwiw. i don't even know enough about cattle farms really, to just start writing software. like i said mostly just crious to see where the convo goes.
[20:02:40]<edbob[m]>i've read a lot of forum posts but i'm still getting lots of other stuff dialed in before i try to settle on specific goals. there is definitely some good info in the forum though
[20:45:27]<edbob[m]>ACTION posted a file: (4KiB) < https://matrix.org/oftc/media/v1/media/download/AYSNkDYj2A-l_4gl5cGkzlsp... >
[20:45:31]<edbob[m]>here is a post i intend to make on the forum "soon" (hopefully!). part of me wants to wrap up current effort and push another release first, but realistically it's still a bit of a random assortment of partiallly implemented things at this point, so "release" is maybe not appropriate yet. so until i decide about that i wanted to post it here, thoughts welcome!
