[12:46:45]<mstenta[m]><symbioquine[m]> "Another strategy is to use the..." <- Yea! This is essentially how the Ledger module was designed to work (the generic Drupal one I mentioned above, not the farmOS Ledger module) - it adds an `account` entity type and uses `log` entities to record "account entries" (credits/debits) on those accounts.
[12:47:22]<mstenta[m]>That was part of the inspiration for the farmOS inventory logic (and using logs in farmOS in general)
[14:01:26]<Greg[m]>Quick probably mstenta question, though others may also be curious. I'm working to pull the list of organizations (farms) from the API (I'm using pasa.farmos.net hosted by Farmier FYI), but I don't see the organizations listed in the api itself. Am I perhaps behind on the Organizations module or is that not expected to be visible in the API yet?
[14:05:16]<Greg[m]>Greg[m]: I do see it on our upsun instance though, which has the additional organization modules installed... so it must be something missing the base module that miriam added... mmm...
[14:05:55]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: Greg: short answer: try again now :-)
[14:06:22]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: ha!
[14:06:38]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: longer answer: you are still on farmOS 3.x using a very old version of the organization PR patch. that was missing a bit that enabled the organization api endpoints. that's been updated in 4.x.
[14:06:51]<mstenta[m]>mstenta[m]: but for now i just manually fixed it in your site's code
[14:06:56]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: thank you
[14:07:20]<Greg[m]>Greg[m]: yeah, I'd love to figure out how to move that work miriam did forward. We thought we had funding but ended up not, which super sucks
[14:07:36]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: ah man ok
[14:07:55]<mstenta[m]>mstenta[m]: does that mean you're going to be stranded on 3.x?
[14:08:05]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: kind of, until that's done, yeah
[14:08:12]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: :-/
[14:08:48]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: I'm guessing (?) that it'll end up being valuable for the CA RCDs, so I'm hoping there'll be funds to pull it forward (by you or someone)... it really was good work and is kind of central to those use cases
[14:09:07]<Greg[m]>Greg[m]: I guess just keep it in mind, and we'll keep our eyes out for opportunities to get it done
[14:10:02]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: yea there does seem to be interest in allowing farmers to log in to the RCD instances, but that's more of a "nice to have" than a core requirement from what we've heard
[14:10:39]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: well, yes, but it's more about having levels to the management layer. System administrators versus TAPs etc.
[14:10:47]<Greg[m]>Greg[m]: the farmer piece is nice to have, but not the central value
[14:11:08]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: we have a lot of work to do on the "implementation tracking" conventions first... so that RCD staff themselves can record stuff. that needs to happen before there is any value letting farmers in
[14:11:12]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: but that's from what I've heard, obviously you've got the direct ear from the RCDs that are using it
[14:11:49]<Greg[m]>Greg[m]: but yeah - have to make the core function of recording plans etc. useful first to your point.
[14:12:07]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: yep - and we're making good progress on those discussions!
[14:15:24]<mstenta[m]><Greg[m]> "I do see it on our upsun..." <- curious... is your upsun instance running 4.x perchance?
[14:15:56]<Greg[m]>mstenta[m]: It might be, I'm not sure. I think she patched this fix in her code
[14:16:06]<Greg[m]>Greg[m]: so there's probably a few things like that, that have since been fixed but we can't update to
[14:16:33]<mstenta[m]>Greg[m]: ah ok
