[22:52:41]<symbioquine[m]><mstenta[m]> "Let me know if you have any..." <- Nope, makes sense to me!
[00:04:35]<symbioquine[m]>Maybe [MapProxy](https://mapproxy.org/) or [QGIS Server](https://docs.qgis.org/3.28/en/docs/server_manual/containerized_deploymen...)
[00:06:02]<symbioquine[m]>Then you can make a simple farmOS module like this one https://github.com/symbioquine/farm_map_sjc which points at the self-hosted map layer(s)
[00:08:45]<symbioquine[m]>Depending on your level of expertise, it may be best to stick with a hosted service...
[00:12:38]<symbioquine[m]>I've got to run for now, but if you create a forum topic I (and maybe others here) can try to give some more pointers. You'll definitely need to do some documentation and experimenting yourself to figure it out - I don't think there's going to be a super beginner friendly way to self-host them right now.
[00:12:39]<symbioquine[m]>* some documentation reading and experimenting
[00:12:39]<symbioquine[m]>* more pointers for how to self-host the map tiles. You'll, * some documentation reading and experimenting

[02:43:47]<Ujeeee[m]>Hi again everyone, I see error on my farmOS status report stating that I should update drupal. I am new to drupal so I don't really understand if I should update it or not, because it it keep popping up when I want to add assets.
[02:54:08]<FarmerEd[m]>You shouldn't need to worry about Drupal updates, you will get them with farmOS updates.
[02:54:08]<FarmerEd[m]>It's normal to see that warning as farmOS is a distribution of Drupal but it's releases may be a little behind from time to time. Critical updates tend to be quicker though.
[03:03:33]<Ujeeee[m]>Thanks for info
[03:05:05]<FarmerEd[m]>Of course you will need to figure out the farmOS updates. With a docker install it's fairly straightforward.
[05:24:30]<Ujeeee[m]>I am migrating my data from google sheet, I'm not sure if my approach is correct in using farmOS. so I make asset of my plant, say "Durian". then I add "observation log" to add the count of Durian in a certain plot. After that I go to overview screen, and it only count my plant asset as "1". Am I doing this right? I have many plant I want to keep track of their quantity because I use this to manage agroforestry plot. How to get overview of
[05:24:30]<Ujeeee[m]>quantity of all of my fruit tree?
[09:17:34]<mstenta[m]>Hi Ujeeee
[09:18:24]<mstenta[m]>You have a choice, depending on how you want to manage your "Durian" asset(s): you can either have a single Plant asset that represents ALL of them, or you can create a separate individual Plant asset for each tree.
[09:18:52]<mstenta[m]>If you don't anticipate needing to track logs against individual trees, then a single asset is probably fine.
[09:19:21]<mstenta[m]>In that case, you can use farmOS's inventory management logic to give the Plant asset an inventory
[09:19:36]<mstenta[m]>https://farmos.org/guide/inventory/
[09:20:04]<mstenta[m]>This inventory will not show on the dashboard - that only shows the number of asset records. But it will show when you click into the individual asset.
[09:20:28]<mstenta[m]>You will need to enable the inventory module that comes with farmOS, if you haven't already.
[12:02:39]<mstenta[m]>farmOS dev call is right now - all are welcome! https://meet.jit.si/farmos-dev
[14:29:04]<mstenta[m]>symbioquine: ah cool!
[14:29:24]<mstenta[m]>yea I agree a targeted fix (and a v2.2.1) makes sense!
[14:32:55]<symbioquine[m]>Awesome
[14:33:30]<mstenta[m]>That's great - thanks for digging into that!
[14:49:31]<symbioquine[m]>Cool! I've merged it, but I've got to run for now...
[14:49:32]<mstenta[m]>K
[14:49:33]<mstenta[m]>I can tag v2.2.1 and add it to farmOS if you want
[14:49:34]<symbioquine[m]>Perfect
[14:49:34]<mstenta[m]>Thanks again symbioquine !
[14:49:35]<symbioquine[m]>np
[15:03:42]<mstenta[m]>Oh paul121 I forgot about symbioquine's concern here: https://farmos.discourse.group/t/move-default-entity-tabs-to-secondary-t...
[15:05:07]<mstenta[m]>Is this bad for mobile UX?

[15:10:09]<mstenta[m]>It does eat up quite a bit of screen space above the fold
[15:10:51]<mstenta[m]>Hrm. Maybe we should figure out a solution to that before merging this... :-/
[15:38:53]<paul121[m]>I guess my main motivation with the secondary tabs is to change it sooner than later, before it could potentially become more of drastic/breaking change
[15:40:27]<paul121[m]>On mobile those secondary tabs aren't great, agreed. But as we identified it's already an issue on other pages (like Asset -> logs tab)
[15:43:35]<paul121[m]><mstenta[m]> "Screenshot from 2023-05-11 15-08..." <- In this example I wonder if it's better to show some of the asset details above the map, as is the map isn't even fully visible :-)
[15:46:13]<paul121[m]>it is a bummer that this secondary tab change would affect the primary asset/log view tab tho :-/
[15:54:09]<mstenta[m]>I wonder if we could hack the breakpoint to make them horizontal tabs on mobile?
[15:54:48]<paul121[m]>yeah that is interesting!
[16:36:35]<mstenta[m]>Oh that looks like a mistake!
[16:36:48]<mstenta[m]>Good eye Grant Braught :-)
[16:43:05]<mstenta[m]>If you feel like opening a PR, the source is here: https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS/blob/2.x/docs/development/module/index.md
[16:43:31]<mstenta[m]>But no pressure, I can fix it later too :-)
