| [11:54:29] | <ddsh[m]> | *selling, not reselling |
| [11:58:55] | <canadrian[m]> | <ddsh[m] "Would farmOS be a good way to ma"> Probably depends what you want to use it for. The ledger module can track some purchases and sales, mostly for the purposes of tracking food history, but it’s not a full-fledged eCommerce platform. That said, it Drupal so it could always be extended with other modules. |
| [12:05:22] | <mstenta[m]> | ddsh: agree with canadrian - the focus of farmOS is production records, but NOT sales/order/customer management |
| [12:05:42] | <mstenta[m]> | so you can record all of the information around the growing and harvesting of seeds |
| [12:05:44] | <mstenta[m]> | as well as inputs etc |
| [12:06:02] | <mstenta[m]> | hope that helps! :-) |

| [16:41:00] | <ddsh[m]> | mstenta: Yes, esxactly :) More concerned about the growing and harvesting of seeds. For e-commerce probably connect it to another platform, but was hoping that the platform can help keep track on seed production and not just produce. Although I guess that technically they should make no difference to FarmOS |
| [16:45:17] | <mstenta[m]> | Ah yea... well... you may be interested in this feature request: https://www.drupal.org/project/farm/issues/3022158 |
| [16:45:32] | <mstenta[m]> | That is for adding a new "Seed" asset type, for managing seed inventory |
| [16:45:35] | <mstenta[m]> | Right now you can manage "Planting" assets |
| [16:45:37] | <mstenta[m]> | So that may work |
| [16:55:47] | <ddsh[m]> | mstenta: thanks :) One question: Is there a reason why the user can't just add a new type of asset? |
| [17:00:39] | <symbioquine[m]> | See https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS/issues/274 |
| [17:01:55] | <symbioquine[m]> | TL;DR; It's theoretically possible to get that meta, but right now there's some wiring that needs to happen in custom Drupal module code to make all the right UI stuff work for a new asset type. |
| [17:04:06] | <symbioquine[m]> | <ddsh[m] "mstenta: thanks :) One question"> I'm assuming you meant through the UI. |
| [17:04:46] | <ddsh[m]> | Yes |
| [17:05:17] | <symbioquine[m]> | Actually https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS/issues/262 is relevant too |
