[08:07:50]<mstenta[m]>Hi skipper_is
[08:08:04]<mstenta[m]>Where did you end up landing on all that?
[08:08:25]<mstenta[m]>The auto-escaping of names is an issue I've run into in the past as well...
[08:08:45]<mstenta[m]>Did you say the Milk form is affected by the same issue?
[08:09:12]<mstenta[m]>If so, can you open a bug report for that? I can fix it, which should then give you something to refer to for your own code
[08:10:44]<mstenta[m]>ludwa6: if you want some help let me know - since you are hosting on Farmier I can potentially help identify which assets they created...
[08:11:04]<skipper_is[m]>Yea, the milk form is the same.
[08:11:04]<mstenta[m]>I can't help with taxonomy terms, unfortunately (Crops/varieties), because those don't store the user ID who created them
[08:11:18]<skipper_is[m]>I'll do one when. I'm back from work tonight
[08:11:26]<skipper_is[m]>... minus the .
[08:11:35]<mstenta[m]>Ok thanks skipper_is !
[08:12:37]<skipper_is[m]>But the birth module and now the weight module use a different function, which, somehow, seems to get around escape characters
[08:12:42]<skipper_is[m]>I couldn't figure out how
[08:13:04]<mstenta[m]>Right... I forget the details - but can look into it later
[08:13:06]<skipper_is[m]>The function looked quite straightforward, and nothing that obviously got around escape characters
[08:13:26]<skipper_is[m]>It was just an implode function on the asset lable
[08:13:31]<skipper_is[m]>*entity label
[11:06:16]<mstenta[m]>To all: here is an agenda doc @botlfarm made for the next monthly call: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yO15xdGGH4YkqhRXjtAkmI6SZy0uelwN3w2k...
[11:06:47]<mstenta[m]>I'll try to walk through some of the various ways that farmOS can be modified via custom modules etc, and we'll try to record it for posterity
[11:07:37]<ludwa6>ACTION is +1 on docs for posterity :-)
[11:09:01]<ludwa6>so mstenta : is this a good time to go looking for records by attribution in my farmier instance?
[11:10:13]<mstenta[m]>Hi ludwa6 - not sure if you saw my recent comments above... here they are again:
[11:10:31]<mstenta[m]>> if you want some help let me know - since you are hosting on Farmier I can potentially help identify which assets they created...
[11:10:50]<mstenta[m]>> I can't help with taxonomy terms, unfortunately (Crops/varieties), because those don't store the user ID who created them
[11:10:54]<mstenta[m]>ludwa6: sure i can take a quick look... can you tell me the user ID?
[11:11:04]<mstenta[m]>or have you already deleted them?
[11:11:04]<ludwa6>yes: it is “bart”
[11:11:15]<ludwa6>not yet.
[11:13:08]<mstenta[m]>ok... looks like there are no assets/logs by that user anymore - i assume you already cleaned those up?
[11:13:35]<mstenta[m]>unfortunately, i can't tell who created taxonomy terms (eg: "Crops/varieties")
[11:13:35]<ludwa6>funny: now i don’t see his name in list of users. didn’t delete him: but i did “block” his account the other day
[11:14:11]<mstenta[m]>oh yea... open sort/filter at the top of hte People page
[11:14:15]<mstenta[m]>and you can show the blocked users
[11:14:22]<mstenta[m]>that's actually what i would recommend... rather than deleting... just block
[11:14:42]<mstenta[m]>this way you still have the records associated with them in the future (not in this case because you are deleting them all, but just generally speaking that is useful IMO)
[11:15:38]<ludwa6>to be clear: records created by a “blocked” user remain in the db/ viewable by all -correct?
[11:17:45]<mstenta[m]>yes that's correct
[11:17:59]<mstenta[m]>blocking just means that the user can no longer log in
[11:19:52]<ludwa6>ok. but… Hm. this is puzzling. the other day -before i blocked user “bart” - there were assets (plantings) created by him (presumably, because plant names were dutch, and he’s the only dutchman we’ve had in the system)… But now i don’t see any dutch names in our plant list, tho i never deleted them.
[11:21:16]<mstenta[m]>do you think perhaps you were looking at the "Crops/varieties"? and not the "Plantings"?
[11:21:42]<mstenta[m]>https://vdl.farmos.net/farm/assets/plantings/crops
[11:21:47]<ludwa6>oh, now i see: dutch names are in the list of “crops”, These carry no attribution to the user tho created, you say?
[11:22:34]<mstenta[m]>those are the "taxonomy terms" i mentioned above... which unfortunately i can't see who created
[11:23:01]<mstenta[m]>right, no attribution :-(
[11:23:15]<mstenta[m]>perhaps you can just look for crops that have "(0)" plantings in that list?
[11:23:30]<mstenta[m]>and delete those?
[11:23:49]<ludwa6>yes, that’s a good idea, probalby safe to do.
[11:24:40]<ludwa6>suggest to me also a policy i might want to institute: nobody creates any taxonomy but the overall farm manager.
[11:25:06]<mstenta[m]>if they DO have any plantings associated with them (eg: archived ones) then farmOS won't let you delete them anyway
[11:26:13]<ludwa6>cuz right now i have a mess of potentially overlapping names referring to the same crops in 2 or 3 different languages (and maybe 4, since i’ve got a Belgian who mixes french in w/ his portuguese =-)
[11:26:58]<mstenta[m]>haha yea that might be a good policy
[11:27:17]<mstenta[m]>i'd love to make that easier to enforce in farmOS itself too, but for now it will need to be a "people rule"
