[14:54:30]<jlharlan1s[m]>Would a DNL file be good for uploading files into FarmOS?
[14:58:15]<mstenta[m]>jlharlan1s: I'm not familiar with DNL files - what are they?
[15:58:09]<jlharlan1s[m]>DNL files are fixed length space delimited files. This is the available format for getting past and future milk numbers from our milk testing service provider.
[16:02:04]<mstenta[m]>Ah ok great.
[16:02:59]<mstenta[m]>So if you want to import those as milk harvest logs, it would probably make sense to convert them to a CSV file in the format that farmOS expects for harvests
[16:03:22]<mstenta[m]>The conversion process could probably be scripted so you don't need to do it manually every time

[17:43:37]<filippide[m]>Good evening, I installed farmos, when I insert a new cultivation there is not a list of species. Do I have to create one? Can a farmos setup manage only a single farm?
[17:44:41]<mstenta[m]>Hi filippide
[17:44:49]<mstenta[m]>That's correct - you need to define the list of crops/varieties you are growing.
[17:44:57]<mstenta[m]>You can do this when you create your first Planting.
[17:45:13]<mstenta[m]>http://farmos.org/guide/assets/plantings/
[17:45:50]<mstenta[m]>farmOS is intended for a single farm, yes. But some people are experimenting with using it to manage multiple plots all in one system.
[17:46:12]<mstenta[m]>There are some ideas to make it capable of managing multiple farms as well - although no one is working on that currently. Maybe in the future.
[17:46:26]<filippide[m]>Thank you
