[08:17:42]<gadicath>mstenta thanks for the quick response on the mapping issue. I guess I zoomed out all the way first when I was using the laptop. Would explain how I got the bad polygon, then it automatically zoomed out each time to match so all the new ones were off too.
[08:27:28]<mstenta>hi gadicath - yea that's a really weird issue. i'm glad we were able to figure it out!
[08:27:35]<mstenta>at least you can understand and work around it now
[08:27:44]<mstenta>hopefully the openlayers team will fix the issue itself soon
[08:28:03]<gadicath>no issue now. I've redrawn each of the polygons and it all lines up now
[08:28:09]<mstenta>excellent! :-)
[08:28:18]<mstenta>by the way, I just released the new version of farmOS: 7.x-1.0-beta13
[08:28:45]<mstenta>so it might be a good idea to update, so that you can be sure everything is stable
[08:28:59]<mstenta>i did find a few bugs after speaking with you, and fixed them, so you might still have them
[08:29:36]<gadicath>what's the best way to get those in to the docker image?
[08:29:52]<gadicath>a pull and delete the farm.info before recreating the containers?
[08:30:02]<mstenta>i'd be happy to help you through the upgrade process at some point if you want - it would help me to figure out the documentation that's necessary here: https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS.org/issues/20
[08:30:51]<mstenta>so the best thing to do would probably be: first, create a backup of you .data directory (maybe run "tar -czf data.tar.gz .data")
[08:31:48]<mstenta>then, assuming you have the farmOS repository itself checked out, run "git checkout 7.x-1.0-beta13" so that the code is pointing to the tagged release
[08:32:53]<mstenta>and then, delete farm.info and recreate the containers...
[08:33:08]<gadicath>ok
[08:33:15]<gadicath>what about the containers up on docker hub
[08:33:17]<mstenta>you won't have to do a docker pull, i don't think, because when you checkout 7.x-1.0-beta13, it will be pointing to the specific 7.x-1.0-beta13 docker image on docker hub
[08:33:23]<mstenta>as opposed to the 7.x-1.x image
[08:33:28]<gadicath>ok
[08:33:37]<mstenta>yea, so i tagged a new image on docker hub for 7.x-1.0-beta13 specifically
[08:33:57]<mstenta>this is the first actual tagged docker image... (since we added docker support after beta12 came out)
[08:34:58]<mstenta>i'm going to document the farmOS docker updgrade procedure on farmOS.org, so in the future you can refer to that... it will probably be mostly the same stuff i'm saying here (i'm taking notes as i go so that i can make them into official docs)
[08:35:42]<gadicath>no worries
[08:35:57]<gadicath>I just had a look at the new docker file. I'll update my copy tomorrow and let you know if there's any issues.
[08:36:05]<mstenta>ok cool
[08:36:28]<mstenta>i'll be online in the afternoon if you want to chat
[08:36:46]<gadicath>I've modified the compose file a little as the ports conflict for me, so I'll just update the image reference and run the new compose after clearing out the info file.
[08:37:01]<gadicath>Morning at the moment for you?
[08:37:04]<mstenta>ok cool - yea i sometimes change my ports locally too when i'm running multiple images
[08:37:09]<mstenta>yes, morning currently for me :-)
[08:37:17]<mstenta>i'm on the east coast united states... you?
[08:37:32]<gadicath>australia/NZ depending on travel
[08:37:41]<mstenta>oh right! haha i remember from your map... :-)
[08:38:52]<gadicath>Its a nice project, better than the paper notes I've been keeping. The only thing I'll be looking at is a way to visualise some of the data. I figure there's going to be useful stuff from the sensors and even harvests that would benefit from being done in charts rather than listings
[08:44:02]<mstenta>yea! i'm looking forward to that too
[08:44:35]<mstenta>my focus has been getting all the necessary groundwork in place and solid, and then we can build some really neat stuff on top like visualizations, reporting, helper tools, planning wizards, etc
[08:44:52]<mstenta>PS: I just sketched up some update notes for you (and others) to follow... https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS.org/issues/20#issuecomment-303089048
[08:45:16]<mstenta>hopefully i didn't miss anything - i think that should do it - but let me know how it goes!
[08:49:01]<mstenta>i just updated that comment a bit, so reload: https://github.com/farmOS/farmOS.org/issues/20#issuecomment-303089048
