[09:41:40]<mstenta>hi andygraybeal!
[09:41:47]<andygraybeal>heya mstenta
[09:41:54]<mstenta>what is "peening"? :-)
[09:42:09]<mstenta>and how was oeffa?
[09:42:28]<andygraybeal>peening sharpening a scythe blade, hitting it with a hammer
[09:43:25]<andygraybeal>i can't focus on any of the workshops, so i didn't go. i watched my kid and had a good time. i tried to connect with as many people as i could, which was interesting. it's not something i've done often.
[09:43:37]<andygraybeal>i talked to some hoophouse guy, and that was cool
[09:44:00]<andygraybeal>there's money the state gov may give us if we can figure out the forms for a hightunnel
[09:46:02]<andygraybeal>i met the owner of grower's tools... leonid. and we talked. i'm going to start doing work for him as a wholesale sales person to other retailers in this region of the US. so that is kind of cool
[09:46:39]<andygraybeal>and there's some seed i'm hoping to get before the end of february .. and the seed guy was there at a booth.
[09:47:08]<andygraybeal>i guess i should have ordered cover crop before a few months from january.
[09:47:33]<andygraybeal>oh well.. i'll be better prepared for next year then.
[10:15:18]<andygraybeal>mstenta, how was the conference that you went to?
[10:15:39]<andygraybeal>farmer's are really cool
[10:15:42]<mstenta>oh hey! haha sorry i didn't see your messages (my IRC comment only makes a sound when my name is in the message)
[10:15:49]<mstenta>IRC client*
[10:15:56]<andygraybeal>i'll try to remember to mention your name, sorry
[10:16:08]<mstenta>sounds like it was a good time overall!
[10:16:39]<mstenta>andygraybeal: the conference i went to in early Jan was great!
[10:16:51]<mstenta>Massachusettes NOFA winter conference
[10:17:11]<mstenta>my presentation on open source farming was well received
[10:17:19]<mstenta>and i went to a great talk afterwards about forest farming
[10:17:29]<mstenta>(shiitakes, maple syrup, etc)
[10:25:27]<andygraybeal>nice
[10:25:45]<andygraybeal>that sounds like what i would be able to do on my place.. shiitakes and maple syrup
[10:26:28]<andygraybeal>are there any farms using farmos?
[10:28:45]<andygraybeal>i just fired up a ubuntu 14.04 linode, instead of my 12.04 - i'll load up farmos on that since i know i can get it to work on 14.04
[10:29:14]<andygraybeal>i at least want to see if i can have a seed inventory with it.
[10:33:23]<andygraybeal>mstenta, sorry to mention your nick
[10:34:00]<mstenta>hey, yea there are a few small beta tester farms using it now
[10:34:08]<mstenta>inventory management is still in the works, though
[10:34:23]<andygraybeal>ok
[10:34:34]<mstenta>one guy is trying to use it for certification in new hampshire... looking forward to hearing how that goes :-)
[10:34:39]<andygraybeal>thank you for your efforts!!
[10:35:09]<andygraybeal>i know a organic certifier person
[10:35:14]<andygraybeal>one lives in our area
[10:35:21]<andygraybeal>i wonder if he will hear about that news
[10:40:04]<mstenta>that would be neat1
[10:47:51]<andygraybeal>do you think that in the future, this app could hook up to the milk producing equipment used by certifiers?
[10:48:00]<andygraybeal>milk testing equipment i mean
[10:51:23]<andygraybeal>to manage information on many farms
[10:51:29]<andygraybeal>that would be cool
[11:12:39]<mstenta>sure
[11:12:49]<mstenta>that's the goal! :-)
[13:03:34]<andygraybeal>yea, it's exciting to think about
